My LOQED batteries are running out fast

Troubleshoot fast battery drain on LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure, including battery type, charging, mechanical resistance and Touch Display-related issues.

If your LOQED battery drains much faster than expected, first choose the section for your model. LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure use different battery systems.

Expected battery life

  • LOQED Touch: normally runs for about 9 to 12 months on one set of 8 good alkaline AA batteries, depending on use and conditions.

  • LOQED Pure: uses a built-in rechargeable battery pack. Typical battery life is about 7 to 12 months under standard use, depending on use, door friction, temperature and connection conditions.

LOQED Touch checks

Step 1: Check the batteries

  • Use 8 good-quality alkaline AA batteries, or supported rechargeable Ni-MH batteries if you use the LOQED PowerKit.

  • Do not use zinc-carbon batteries. They are not suitable for the LOQED Touch Smart Lock.

  • Replace all 8 batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Step 2: Check that the lock moves smoothly

  • Open the door and lock/unlock while the door is open.

  • If the lock works normally with the door open but struggles when the door is closed, the latch or deadbolt may be under pressure.

  • Adjust the door, strike plate or mortise lock if the mechanism is stiff. A stiff mechanism uses much more battery power.

Step 3: Check the battery percentage behavior

Battery percentage is an estimate. A short drop after replacing batteries does not always mean the batteries are faulty. However, fast repeated drops or very short battery life should be investigated.

Step 4: Check for a Touch Display issue

On LOQED Touch, the outside Touch Display can sometimes cause unusual battery drain. If the display behaves strangely, does not wake reliably, shows distorted text, or the app reports a display problem, troubleshoot the Touch Display as well.

LOQED Pure checks

Step 1: Fully recharge the battery pack

LOQED Pure uses a built-in rechargeable battery pack. Recharge it with the included power adapter and 3 meter cord, then check the battery status in the LOQED app.

Step 2: Check charging and reporting

  • Make sure the charger is fully inserted and the power outlet works.

  • If the battery status in the app does not change after charging, restart the app and check again when the lock is online.

  • If the battery pack repeatedly loses charge very quickly, contact support instead of trying to replace it with AA batteries.

Step 3: Check the door mechanism

  • Test lock/unlock with the door open.

  • Check whether the cylinder or mortise lock is stiff or misaligned.

  • Make sure the cylinder screw and mounting screws are not overtightened.

  • Re-run calibration in the LOQED app if the motor does not complete its movement cleanly.

Step 4: Optional Touch Display

LOQED Pure does not include a Touch Display by default. Only check Touch Display battery-drain symptoms if your Pure has the optional LOQED Touch Display installed.

When to contact support

  • The battery drains again within days after a full charge or fresh batteries.

  • The lock motor struggles even with the door open.

  • The Touch Display behaves abnormally or the app reports a display problem.

  • A LOQED Pure battery pack does not charge with the included power adapter.

Contact LOQED support through the LOQED app or via support.loqed.com. Include your lock model, battery type or charging method, and what you already tested.
