Charging batteries: LOQED Touch PowerKit and LOQED Pure rechargeable battery

How charging works for LOQED Touch with the PowerKit and for LOQED Pure with its built-in rechargeable battery pack.

LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure use different battery systems. Use the section for your model.

Quick answer

  • LOQED Touch: ships with 8 AA alkaline batteries. If you use the LOQED PowerKit, you can replace them with 8 rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and charge them in the lock.

  • LOQED Pure: ships with a built-in rechargeable battery pack. It does not use 8 AA batteries and does not use the LOQED PowerKit charging method.

If you do not already have the LOQED PowerKit, you can buy it here: https://www.shelly.com/products/loqed-power-kit

Charge when the batteries still have power

  1. Connect the LOQED PowerKit charger to the charging connector on the motor module cover.

  2. If charging starts immediately, the LED near the connector will turn on.

  3. If charging does not start immediately, open the LOQED app and check that the battery type is set to Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

  4. In the LOQED app, go to the battery and charging settings and tap Start charging.

  5. Charging can take up to 4 hours. The LED stays on while charging and turns off when charging stops.

Charge when the Touch batteries are completely empty

If the Touch batteries are at 0%, the lock may not have enough power to receive the Start charging command. In that case, first wake the lock with 9V backup power.

  1. Hold a fresh 9V battery against the emergency-power pins on the outside Touch Display.

  2. Keep the 9V battery connected for about 30 seconds while the lock starts.

  3. Use the LOQED app to start charging.

  4. Keep the 9V battery connected for a few more minutes so the lock has enough power to continue.

  5. Disconnect the 9V battery, wait for the lock to restart, and start charging again if needed.

LOQED Pure rechargeable battery pack

LOQED Pure has a built-in rechargeable battery pack (ICR18500, 11.1 V, 2400 mAh). It should be recharged with the included power adapter and 3 meter cord.

  1. Connect the included power adapter to the charging port on the LOQED Pure.

  2. Leave the Pure connected until the battery pack is charged.

  3. Check the LOQED app afterwards to confirm the battery status.

If the Pure battery pack is completely depleted

If the Pure battery pack is completely empty, use the included 9V backup power cable to temporarily power the lock. The cable plugs into the motor module on the inside and is routed to the exterior cylinder cover, so Pure can use 9V backup power even without a Touch Display.

  1. Connect a fresh 9V battery to the backup power cable at the exterior cylinder cover.

  2. Wait about 20 to 30 seconds for the lock to power up.

  3. Open the door with the LOQED app or a paired Shelly BLU Button Tough 1 ZB.

  4. After opening, recharge the Pure battery pack with the included power adapter.

Important notes

  • Do not put 8 AA batteries in a LOQED Pure. Pure uses its own rechargeable battery pack.

  • Do not use the LOQED PowerKit instructions for LOQED Pure.

  • For LOQED Touch, use only suitable AA batteries. Zinc-carbon batteries are not suitable.

If the lock does not charge or the battery drains unusually fast, contact LOQED support through the LOQED app or via support.loqed.com.
