Replacing or recharging the batteries

How to handle batteries for LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure. Touch uses 8 AA batteries; Pure uses a built-in rechargeable battery pack.

LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure use different battery systems. Follow the instructions for your model.

Quick answer

  • LOQED Touch: replace all 8 AA batteries, or recharge them if you use supported rechargeable batteries with the LOQED PowerKit.

  • LOQED Pure: recharge the built-in rechargeable battery pack with the included power adapter. Pure does not use 8 AA batteries.

LOQED Touch: replace the 8 AA batteries

  1. Open the door and keep it open during the battery replacement.

  2. Use the hex key to loosen the screw in the inside handle and remove the handle.

  3. Pull off the metal cover. The black bearing may come off as well; keep it safe.

  4. Remove the plastic cover from the motor module.

  5. Replace all 8 AA batteries. Make sure the flat negative side (-) touches the spring.

  6. Push the plastic cover back onto the motor module.

  7. Put the metal cover back over the enclosure.

  8. Slide the black bearing back onto the axle if it came off.

  9. Place the handle back and tighten the screw gently.

Important: do not overtighten the handle screw. The screw can be damaged if it is tightened too much.

The first time you use the lock after replacing the batteries, the lock may calibrate and find the lock position again.

Battery type for LOQED Touch

  • Use good-quality alkaline AA batteries for normal replacement.

  • Do not use zinc-carbon batteries.

  • If you use the LOQED PowerKit, use the supported rechargeable Ni-MH batteries supplied for that setup.

LOQED Pure: recharge the built-in battery pack

LOQED Pure has a built-in rechargeable battery pack (ICR18500, 11.1 V, 2400 mAh). It does not use 8 AA batteries and the normal customer action is to recharge the pack, not replace individual batteries.

  1. Connect the included power adapter to the charging port on the LOQED Pure.

  2. Leave the lock connected until the battery pack is charged.

  3. Check the battery status in the LOQED app.

If the Pure battery is completely empty

Use the included 9V backup power cable to temporarily power the Pure. The cable connects to the motor module on the inside and is routed to the exterior cylinder cover, so it can be used even without an optional Touch Display.

When to contact support

  • The LOQED Touch battery compartment or contacts are damaged.

  • The LOQED Pure battery pack does not charge with the included adapter.

  • Battery life is much shorter than expected after using the correct battery type or fully charging the pack.
