How hack-proof is the LOQED lock?

How LOQED protects digital keys, lock communication and Touch to Open security.

Applies to: LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure. Touch Display-specific security features apply to Pure only when the optional Touch Display is installed.

Digital security is a high priority for LOQED. The system is designed so that digital keys remain protected and are not visible to LOQED.

Only you have the encryption key

Your digital keys are encrypted with your personal password. Only your LOQED lock and the LOQED app on your phone can use those keys. New keys are shared through a secure medium of your choice and are not readable by LOQED.

This also means LOQED cannot open the door for you if you lose your phone, forget your password and have no recovery method or backup entry option.

Touch to Open security

Touch to Open is designed to reduce accidental opening. The lock opens only when the authorised phone is near the door, judged to be outside, and the Touch Display is touched. LOQED Pure supports this only when the optional Touch Display is installed.

For more information, see How does Touch to Open work?.

Encryption and signatures

  • LOQED uses end-to-end encryption and digital signatures to protect lock commands and data.

  • Bridge/gateway and integration messages are designed so third parties cannot simply forge lock status or commands.

  • Remote and integration features should only be configured by administrators who understand the security impact.

Protection against relay attacks

LOQED uses inside/outside detection and short-range Bluetooth behavior to reduce the risk of relay-style attacks. No wireless system can remove every risk, so keep your phone, LOQED account and recovery token secure.
