Does my LOQED lock work without a bridge, gateway or internet?

What still works locally over Bluetooth and what requires a LOQED Bridge, LOQED BLU Gateway or internet connection.

Applies to: LOQED Touch and LOQED Pure.

Yes. Basic local control still works when you are near the lock, because the LOQED app can communicate with the lock over Bluetooth.

What works without internet

  • Open or lock the door from the LOQED app when your phone is within Bluetooth range.

  • Use a PIN code if your lock has an outside Touch Display. LOQED Touch has this by default; LOQED Pure only has it when the optional LOQED Touch Display is installed.

  • Use configured local Bluetooth accessories, such as a Shelly BLU Button, when supported and already set up.

What requires a bridge, gateway or internet

  • Remote opening and remote locking.

  • Changing most lock settings from outside Bluetooth range.

  • Reliable cloud sync for keys, schedules and status.

  • For LOQED Touch, arrival-based Touch to Open/Auto Unlock requires an online LOQED Bridge connected to Wi-Fi, an internet connection on the phone, and the app's background permissions. Nearby control from the app over Bluetooth is a separate method.

See the Touch to Open explanation and checklist. Touch to Connect is a separate optional feature; follow its own setup and operating conditions.

Model difference

  • LOQED Touch uses the LOQED Bridge for Wi-Fi/cloud connectivity.

  • LOQED Pure uses the LOQED BLU Gateway for Wi-Fi/cloud connectivity.
