Yes, the lock communicates with your smartphone through Bluetooth when you are within range.

The LOQED Bridge connects to your Wi-Fi network and LOQED Smart Lock. Without a bridge, the basic functions of the smart lock will still work: you can open the door via Bluetooth or using a code. Touch to Open, however, will work less reliably without a bridge and you will not be able to change settings or open the door remotely.
